[ Proclamation No. 1725, March 29, 1978 ]

DECLARING MAY 25-31, 1978 AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS EXPORT CONSCIOUSNESS WEEK

WHEREAS, the short and long-term economic development plan for 1978 up to the year 2000, as adopted under Presidential Decree No. 1200, calls for an accelerated export expansion as a means to generate increase foreign exchange supportive to the over-all national goals;

WHEREAS, a sustained thrust at foreign trade expansion necessitates a joint effort of government and private sector; and

WHEREAS, to encourage a continuing support from all sectors concerned, there is need to evoke public awareness of the government’s export drive by declaring a week of the year Export Consciousness Week.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare May 25-31, 1978 and every last week of May every year thereafter as EXPORT CONSCIOUSNESS WEEK; and enjoin all government agencies and private businesses, firms, organizations and individuals to give the Export Consciousness Week proper observance and to support export consciousness campaigns.1aшphi1
