[ Proclamation No. 1720, March 8, 1978 ]

PROCLAIMING LAST WEEK OF MARCH AS PLANNING WEEK AND AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF GOVERNMENT PLANNERS, INC. TO CONDUCT A MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN FROM FEBRUARY 1 TO MARCH 31, OF EVERY YEAR.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Society of Government Planners, Inc. (PSGP, Inc.) is a non-profit, non-stock corporation organized to upgrade the processes of development planning and decision-making at all strata of government and to effect a close link between plan formulation and plan implementation;

WHEREAS, there is a need to strengthen the bond of unity and foster mutual cooperation among development planners;

WHEREAS, the PSGP, Inc. by its professional aims and services seek to provide a common venue to solidify the official and informal activities of government planners at all levels of the government; and

WHEREAS, the laudable aims and the projected achievements of this organization will compliment the administrative and planning efforts of the government and therefore deserve public support;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby declare the last week of March of every year as PLANNING WEEK and do hereby authorize the Philippine Society of Government Planners, Inc. to conduct membership and fund campaign from February 1 to March 31, of every year hereafter starting 1978.

I hereby authorize all government offices to actively participate and attend all official activities of the PSGP, Inc. in celebrating the planning week. Government departments and offices are therefore authorized to shoulder the seminar fees and other participation expenses of their respective employees attending the official activities of the PSGP, Inc.

I urge all public and private organizations and citizens and residents of this country to give generously of their means to enable the said organization to realize its objectives.1aшphi1
