DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 23 TO 29, 1978, AS PUBLIC RELATIONS WEEK

WHEREAS, the Public Relations Society of the Philippines is scheduled to host an ASEAN PR Conference in Manila from January 23 to 29, 1978;

WHEREAS, on this particular week the Public Relations Society of the Philippines will also confer on deserving national public relations projects, programs and publications, its annual Anvil Awards which will be on its eleventh year of presentation in January 1978;

WHEREAS, the Public Relations Society of the Philippines is composed of members, the majority of which are outstanding PR practitioners, PR managers of the country’s top corporations and prominent PR directors of government corporations and offices; and

WHEREAS, the proclamation of January 23 to 29, 1978, will be a fitting recognition of the role of public relations in the promotion of socio-economic development of the country by alluding to it as an effective instrument in bridging the gap between government and private industry and the people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from January 23 to 29, 1978, as Public Relations Week under the auspices of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.
