DECLARING MONDAY, JANUARY 9, 1978, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN DAGUPAN CITY

WHEREAS, January 9, 1978, marks the historical landing of the American Forces led by the late Gen. Douglas MacArthur at Bonuan, Blue Beach, Dagupan City that ultimately led to the liberation of the Philippines from the Japanese Imperial Army; and

WHEREAS, the residents of Dagupan City should be afforded the opportunity to commemorate this historical event with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, January 9, 1978, as a special public holiday in Dagupan City.1aшphi1
