DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 5 TO 9, 1977, AS INTERNATIONAL TOURING ALLIANCE WEEK AND AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE MOTOR ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT A FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 1 TO DECEMBER 1, 1977

WHEREAS, the International Touring Alliance otherwise known as the Alliance Internationale du Tourisme (AIT) is a world federation of touring clubs and automobile associations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and the Council of Europe;

WHEREAS, the sixth AIT Congress on Leisure and Touring will be held in Manila, Philippines from December 5 to 9, 1977; and

WHEREAS, the objective of the congress is to analyze the existing relationship between the motorist and the environment so as to establish the most appropriate structures in the field or coexistence between infrastructures necessary to the motorist and the environment;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from December 5 to 9, 1977, as “International Touring Alliance Week” under the auspices of the Philippine Motor Association.

The Philippine Motor Association is hereby authorized to conduct a fund-raising campaign to cover the period from June 1 to December 1, 1977 in order to meet the financial requirements of hosting in the AIT congress and all donations to the fund-raising activities of the said congress shall be tax exempt.
