DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 28 TO DECEMBER 4, 1977, AS NATIONAL HANDICAPPED WEEK

WHEREAS, the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Disabled, Inc., will hold a series of activities involving government agencies and private organizations involved in the welfare of the handicapped, culminating in a National Conference on the Rehabilitation of the Disabled on November 23 to December 4, 1977 in Manila; and

WHEREAS, it is in the national interest to stimulate public awareness of the problem of disability and encourage every citizen to take responsibility for its resolution, in order to uplift the economic and social conditions of the less fortunate members of our society;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 23, to December 4, 1977, as “National Handicapped Week” under the auspices of the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Inc. and its affiliated organizations.
