DECLARING THE SECOND WEEK OF APRIL OF EVERY YEAR AS SAMAHANG NAYON WEEK

WHEREAS, the Samahang Nayon and their Katipunan at all levels are the bases of the new cooperatives development program;

WHEREAS, in order that our society may realize the impact of their contributions to the economic development of the country, it is necessary that proper recognition be accorded to the Samahang Nayon and their Katipunan;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution of the Philippines, do hereby declare April 8 to 14 of every year as SAMAHANG NAYON WEEK.

The Department of Local Government and Community Development, in coordination with the Department of Agrarian Reform, shall cooperate with the members of the Samahang Nayon and their Katipunan network in holding the proper and appropriate activities celebrating the week in the entire country.
