DECLARING THE KIANGAN WAR MEMORIAL SHRINE IN LINDA, KIANGAN, IFUGAO AS A NATIONAL SHRINE
WHEREAS, the Department of Tourism, through its implementing arm, the Philippine Tourism Authority, has completed the construction of the Kiangan War Memorial Shrine in Linda, Kiangan, Ifugao, to perpetuate the surrender site of the Japanese Imperial Forces, ending almost four years of enemy occupation; and
WHEREAS, the Shrine needs to be maintained and kept for posterity worthy of its status as a national landmark and tourist attraction and a reminder of the uselessness of war as a means of solving international differences;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby declare the Kiangan War Memorial in Linda, Kiangan, Ifugao, as a national shrine, together with the premises, subject to subsequent survey which shall form part of this Proclamation, under the control and administration of the Military War Memorial Division of the Department of National Defense.
