[ Proclamation No. 1677, October 10, 1977 ]

AUTHORIZING THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND DRIVE DURING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 1, 1977 TO APRIL 30, 1978.

WHEREAS, the University of the Philippines College of Agriculture Alumni Association is now engaged in a comprehensive program to promote the welfare of its members; to foster closer association among them, as well as with farmers and colleagues in their fields of discipline; to broaden their skills and experiences; and to unify their efforts in order to maximize their contributions to the national efforts towards rural and agricultural development;

WHEREAS, the implementation of its program, depends to a large degree, upon the availability of adequate physical facilities where members, allied professionals and farmers can get together to exchange views and experiences in an atmosphere conductive to study and research and to the solution of their problems;

WHEREAS, the Association has embarked on a project to establish an Alumni Center, which will provide its members with necessary facilities for their activities in pursuit of their goals, which are in line with the objectives of the New Society; and

WHEREAS, the Association needs the support and cooperation of the public for the successful completion of this project;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the University of the Philippines College of Agriculture Alumni Association to conduct a national fund drive during the period from November 1, 1977 to April 30, 1978. I call upon all citizens and residence of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality, race or creed, to assist in this laudable endeavor by giving generously of their means.

It is hereby reiterated that all donations or contributions which may be made by private entities or persons to the University of the Philippines College of Agriculture Alumni Association Fund Campaign shall be exempt from income and gift taxes, and the same shall constitute allowable deductions in full from the income of the donors for income tax purposes.1aшphi1
