Annual Educational and Fund Campaigns of the Community Chest and Council Organizations in the Phil.
DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 15, 1977 TO FEBRUARY 15, 1978 FOR THE ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGNS OF COMMUNITY CHEST AND COUNCIL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE PHILIPPINES
WHEREAS, the Community Chest and Council organizations in the Philippines are engaged in the funding of community health and welfare services, as well as in the promotion of economic well-being of the people in the different parts of the country;
WHEREAS, in the promotion of such economic well-being, Barangay Rural Improvement Corps, or BRICs have been organized in almost all of the provinces, cities and municipalities;
WHEREAS, the Community Chest and Council organizations unite into one annual appeal the campaigns for public assistance to the health and welfare needs of the more needy among our citizen; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that the humanitarian objectives of the Community Chests and Councils of the Philippines, Inc. be fully attained;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby designate the period from August 15, 1977 to February 15, 1978 for the annual educational and fund campaigns of all the Community Chest and Council organizations in the Philippines and the holding of special events thereafter under the auspices and supervision of the Community Chests and Councils of the Philippines, Inc.
I hereby call upon all residents, of whatever race or creed, business firms, organizations and government officials and employees in the areas above mentioned to support the campaigns of the Community Chest and Council organizations, by giving generously of their means and volunteer efforts to this one annual appeal campaign for the promotion of the health, welfare and economic well-being of our less fortunate countrymen, in their respective areas of operation.
