[ Proclamation No. 1657, July 28, 1977 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 1 TO AUGUST 7, 1977, AS NATIONAL ELECTRIFICATION WEEK.

WHEREAS, it is the declared national policy objective of the New Society to pursue with vigor the total electrification of the Philippines on an area coverage service basis; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting to focus public attention to the accomplishments of the government towards electrification;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order and declare the period from August 1 to August 7, 1977, as “National Electrification Week” under the auspices of the National Electrification Administration and such other entities and organizations involved in electrification.
