PROCLAMATION NO. 1656

DECLARING SATURDAY, JULY 23, 1977, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR THE PROVINCE OF BATANGAS AND THE CITIES THEREIN.

WHEREAS, July 23, 1977, marks the 113th birth anniversary of Apolinario Mabini, historically known as the “Sublime Paralytic” whose ideals and principles in life are now the nation’s treasured legacy; and

WHEREAS, the people of Batangas province, his birthplace, desire to celebrate his birthday with fitting ceremonies;

NOW THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Saturday, July 23, 1977, as a special public holiday in the Province of Batangas and the cities therein.
