[ Proclamation No. 1651, June 28, 1977 ]

AUTHORIZING MGA LINGKOD BAYAN TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1977.

WHEREAS, Mga Lingkod Bayan is a non-profit civic organization with objectives geared towards the development of good and useful citizens and enlightened leaders in coordination with government efforts along this line; and

WHEREAS, the organization needs the support of the public to enable it to accomplish its objectives;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize Mga Lingkod Bayan to conduct a national educational and fund campaign during the period from June 15 to December 31, 1977.

I call upon all citizens, residents regardless of nationality or creed, business firms, civic, religious, government and educational institutions to support actively and give generously of their means to this laudable undertaking.

All donations and contributions to Mga Lingkod Bayan shall be exempt from income taxes, gift taxes, customs duties and other taxes due thereon and the same shall constitute allowable deductions in full from the income of the donors and contributors for income tax purposes.
