DECLARING JUNE 1 OF EVERY YEAR AS “ARAW NG MAKATI” AND JUNE 1, 1977, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN MAKATI, METROPOLITAN MANILA.

WHEREAS, June, 1977, marks the anniversary of the founding of Makati, Metropolitan Manila, as an independent municipality;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to focus public attention on the phenomenal growth of Makati into a progressive municipality; and

WHEREAS, the residents of Makati desire to celebrate this milestone in their municipality’s history;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare June 1 of every year as “Araw ng Makati” and June 1, 1977, as a special public holiday in the Municipality of Makati, Metropolitan Manila.1aшphi1
