EXTENDING THE DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME JUNE 7, 1977 TO SEPTEMBER 21, 1977.

WHEREAS, in order to take advantage of longer daylight hours during the summer period the daylight saving time (DST) was proclaimed effective March 28, 1977 to June 7, 1977;

WHEREAS, during the period of its implementation the daylight saving time (DTS) was found beneficial for it enabled the nation to substantially conserve energy;

WHEREAS, the extension of the daylight saving time (DST) will further generate savings of elective power and fuel consumption consistent with the nationwide drive for energy conservation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby proclaim an extension of the daylight saving time (DST) from June 7, 1977 up to 12:00 o’clock midnight of September 21, 1977.
