[ Proclamation No. 1611, January 21, 1977 ]

AUTHORIZING THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT A FUND DRIVE FOR THE HOLDING OF A PHILIPPINE INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR IN MANILA.

WHEREAS, the participation in or holding of international trade fairs is an effective tool in the government's aggressive export promotion drive;

WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines has been entrusted with the responsibility of sponsoring an International Trade Fair to be held at the Philippine Center for International Exhibition (PHILCITE), Manila;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines to conduct a nationwide fund campaign for a period of one year from the issuance of this proclamation to support the holding of the Philippine International Trade Fair in Manila.
