[ Proclamation No. 1606, December 23, 1976 ]

DECLARING A HALF DAY SESSION IN ALL GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE OFFICES ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 24, 1976, BEGINNING ONE O’CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON.

WHEREAS, Christendom celebrates Christmas, the birth of Christ, on December 25, 1976;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people be given full opportunity to prepare for the celebration of Christmas day;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare a half day session in all government and private offices on Friday, December 24, 1976, beginning one o’clock in the afternoon.
