[ Proclamation No. 1586, September 17, 1976 ]

CONVENING THE BATASAN BAYAN

WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 995 provides for the creation of Legislative Advisory Council known as the BATASANG BAYAN;

WHEREAS, the said Decree calls for the BATASANG BAYAN to convene initially on the 21st day of September, 1976;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby convene the Batasang Bayan, to meet for such number of days as may be necessary commencing on the 21st day of September 1976, to consider such resolutions as may be brought before it.1aшphi1

All persons entitled to sit as Members of the Batasang Bayan are requested to take notice of this Proclamation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
