MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 1527, January 6, 1976 ] AUTHORIZING THE GREEN REVOLUTION NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 1 TO DECEMBER 31, 1976. WHEREAS, it is the abiding concern of the Government as well as of civic-minded citizens and the enlightened sectors of society to achieve and maintain national food self-sufficiency for the continued well-being of the Filipino people; WHEREAS, since its inception, the Green Revolution Project has become accepted nationwide as the vital answer to the food problem of our people, as evidenced by major gains achieved in diversified crop and livestock production; and WHEREAS, the Green Revolution as a national undertaking carried out mainly by backyard food producers, merits the aid and support of both the government and private sectors as well as by civic groups and enlightened individuals, particularly in form of financial assistance; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Green Revolution National Executive Committee to conduct a nationwide educational and fund campaign during the period from January 1 to December 31, 1976. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality or creed, to give generously and participate actively in this drive and thus help insure the continued well-being of the Filipino people and the economic stability of the Republic. It is hereby reiterated that all donations or contributions which may be made by private entities or persons to the Green Revolution Fund Campaign shall be exempt from income and gift taxes, and the same shall constitute allowable deductions in full from the income of the donors and contributors for income tax purposes.
