[ Proclamation No. 1522, December 12, 1975 ]

DECLARING THE IFUGAO RICE TERRACES IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF BANAUE, KIANGAN, MAYAOYAO, BATAD, HUNGDUAN AND HAPAO IN THE PROVINCE OF IFUGAO AS A TOURIST ZONE.

WHEREAS the Ifugao Rice Terraces of Banaue, Kiangan, Mayaoyao, Batad, Hunduan and Hapao in the Province of Ifugao need to be preserved from the encroachments of civilization to enhance their value as national cultural treasures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby declare the Ifugao rice terraces in the Municipalities of Banaue, Kiangan, Mayaoyao, Batad, Hungduan and Hapao in the province of Ifugao as a tourist zone under the administration and control of the Philippine Tourism Authority (OTA) pursuant to Sec. 5 (D) of P.D. No. 564.

The PTA shall identify well-defined geographic areas within the zone wherein concentration of efforts and limited resources of of government and private sector may be affected to generate foreign exchange as well as other tourist receipts.

All proclamations, decrees or executive orders inconsistent herewith are hereby revoked or modified accordingly.1aшphi1
