DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 13 TO 17, 1975, AS “DEAF AWARENESS WEEK”

WHEREAS, the Philippine Association of the Deaf, Inc. is celebrating its foundation anniversary on October 17, 1975, after forty-nine years of dedicated service to the deaf members of our society;

WHEREAS, the Association has been providing the deaf free education, vocational training and job opportunities for the development of their potentials;

WHEREAS, there is a need to awaken the sympathy and understanding of the general public on the welfare of the deaf to enable them to find their rightful place in society;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from October 13 to 17, 1975, as “Deaf Awareness Week” under the auspices of the Philippine Association of the Deaf, Inc. and other involved organizations.1aшphi1
