DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 17 TO 23 OF EVERY YEAR AS NATIONAL NUMISMATIC WEEK

WHEREAS, the historical development of a nation is vividly recorded in the numismatic objects produced by the country;

WHEREAS, the Filipino people take pride in a glorious cultural heritage, their noble aspirations and achievements depicted in various coins, medals, tokens, paper money and diverse heraldic devices; and

WHEREAS, there is need for arousing national consciousness and pride in our glorious history, rich culture and national identity that deserve preservation by developing an awareness of the beauty and significance of our numismatic treasures and artifacts;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from November 17 to 23 of every year as NATIONAL NUMISMATIC WEEK, and designate the Philippine Numismatic and Antiquarian Society to take charge of its national observance,
