MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 1480, August 20, 1975 ] AUTHORIZING THE GYMNASTICS ASSOCIATION OP THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT AN EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN FROM AUGUST 15, 1975 TO NOVEMBER 15, 1975. WHEREAS, the physical fitness, moral and cultural education of the youth for the development of character, good health and respectable citizenry is a vital concern of government as well as of the private sector; WHEREAS, the Gymnastics Association of the Philip pines is a non-profit agency engaged in the promotion and development of sports and physical fitness and was a member of the defunct Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation and now integrated with the Department of Youth and Sports Development covered by Presidential Decree No. 604; WHEREAS, the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines will host on December 12-14, 1975 the II Asian Youth Gymnastics Championship in Manila with ten Asian countries participating namely: People’s Republic of China, Democratic Republic, of Korea, India, Hongkong, Iran, Japan, R public of Korea, Kuwait, Pakistan and the Philippines; WHEREAS, in the preparation for this international event, the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines aims to undertake vigorous campaign to focus attention to the significance of this meet not only locally but internationally, if only to show the strides we have made since the ad vent of the New Society on a hitherto neglected sport; WHEREAS, the commendable initiative and laudable effort of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines deserves the moral and material support of both the government and the private sector; NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Gymnastics Association of, the Philippines to conduct an educational. and fund raising campaign from August 15, 1975 to November 15, 1975. I urge government agencies, private organizations and residents to give generously of their ,means to enable the said association to realize its objectives.1aшphi1 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
