MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 1457, July 7, 1975 ] AUTHORIZING THE PEFTOK VETERANS ASSOCIATION, INCORPORATED, TO CONDUCT A CAMPAIGN TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND PRESERVATION OF PROJECTS FOR THE WELFARE OF ITS MEMBERS, THEIR WIDOWS/ORPHANS AND DEPENDENTS, AND THE PURCHASE OF FACILITIES FOR THE PEFTOK VETERANS CENTER AND MUSEUM. WHEREAS, the PEFTOK Veterans Association, Incorporated, hereinafter referred to as the PVAI, is a duly registered veterans’ association, with some twelve thousand military retirees, widows, orphans and disabled veterans; WHEREAS, the PVAI was organized to foster a stronger and more active fraternal relationship and cooperation among its members; secure and protect the rights, interests and well-being of the members; preserve the memories of the Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea and the heroic incidents and memorabilia of the great war fought by the Filipino soldiers in Korea; and more importantly, promote and encourage more militant and effective participation in national affairs, specifically in the realization of the objectives and goals of the New Society; WHEREAS, the PVAI has constructed a building in Fort Bonifacio, Rizal, known as “The PEFTOK Veterans Center and Museum” where it may hold its offices for the greater convenience and benefit of all its members, and it can preserve and enshrine important documents and records on the heroic deeds and exemplary gallantry of the Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea in the defense of freedom and the maintenance of world peace; WHEREAS, the PVAI is a non-profit organization and it has no source of the funds required for the maintenance and purchase of equipment and facilities of said PEFTOK Veterans Center and Museum and for the implementation of its laudable objectives and projects which will be beneficial not only to its members and other veterans, but also to the country in general; NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the PVAI to conduct a fund campaign from June 26, 1975 to December 31, 1975, including the holding of benefit movie premieres, live musical variety shows, raffles and cockfights.
