[ Proclamation No. 1442, June 19, 1975 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, JUNE 24, 1975, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN MANILA.

WHEREAS, every year the City of Manila celebrates June 24 as “Araw ng Maynila,” marking the founding of the city as the premier Christmas City of Asia; and

WHEREAS, the residents of Maynila, conscious of the historical and cultural significance of the event, desire to celebrate the same with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, June 24, 1975, as a special public holiday in Manila.
