DECLARING FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 1975, AS NORBERTO ROMUALDEZ DAY, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE CITIES OF BACOLOD, CATBALOGAN, CALBAYOG, TACLOBAN AND ORMOC AND IN THE PROVINCES OF LEYTE AND SAMAR.

WHEREAS, Friday, June 6, 1975, marks the birth centenary of Norberto Romualdez, educator, historian, jurist, parliamentarian, novelist, musicologist, philosopher, poet, and considered one of the “Seven Wise Men” of the 1934 Constitutional Convention; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to pause from our daily activities to ponder on the important contributions of Norberto Romualdez to the development and progress of the Philippines as a nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Friday, June 6, 1975, as NORBERTO ROMUALDEZ DAY and as a special public holiday in the Cities of Bacolod, Catbalogan, Calbayog, Tacloban and Ormoc and the Provinces of Leyte and Samar.
