DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 1 TO DECEMBER 31, 1975, FOR THE ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGNS OF COMMUNITY CHEST AND COUNCIL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE PHILIPPINES.
WHEREAS, the Community Chest and Council organizations in the Philippines are engaged in the funding of community health and welfare services, as well as in the promotion of economic well-being of the people in the different parts of the country;
WHEREAS, in the promotion of such economic well-being, Barangay Rural Improvement Corps, or BRICs have been organized in almost all of the provinces, cities and municipalities;
WHEREAS, the Community Chest and Council organizations unite into one annual appeal the campaigns for public assistance to the health and welfare needs of the more needy among our citizens; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that the humanitarian objectives of the Community Chests and Councils of the Philippines, Inc., be fully attained.1aшphi1
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby designate the period from June 1 to December 31, 1975, for the annual educational and fund campaigns of the Community Chest and Council organizations under the auspices and supervision of the Community Chests and Councils of the Philippines, Inc.
In view hereof, the various Community Chest and Council organizations in the following provinces and cities are hereby authorized to conduct educational and fund campaigns in their respective areas of solicitations, as follows: Abra, Agusan del Norte and Butuan City, Agusan del Sur, Aklan, Albay and Legaspi City, Antique, Baguio City, Basilan, Batanes, Batangas and Cities therein, Benguet, Bohol and Tagbilaran City, Bukidnon, Bulacan, Cagayan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Cities therein, Camiguin, Capiz and Roxas City, Catanduanes, Cavite and Cities therein, Cebu and Cities therein, Davao Oriental, Greater Davao City, Ifugao, Iligan City and Lanao del Norte, Ilocos Norte and Cities therein, Ilocos Sur, Iloilo and Cities therein, Isabela, Kalinga-Apayao, Laguna and San Pablo City, Lanao del Sur and Marawi City, La Union, Maguindanao and Cities therein, Marinduque, Masbate, Misamis Occidental and Cities therein, Misamis Oriental and Cities therein, Mountain Province, Negros Occidental and Cities therein, Negros Oriental and Cities therein, North Cotabato, Nueva Ecija and Cities therein, Nueva Vizcaya, Occidental Mindoro and Cities therein, Oriental Mindoro, Ormoc City and Leyte Area, Palawan and Puerto Princesa City, Pampanga and Angeles City, Pangasinan, Dagupan and San Carlos Cities, Quezon and Lucena City, Quirino, Romblon, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Western Samar, South Cotabato and General Santos City, Southern Leyte, Sorsogon, Sultan Kudarat, Sulu, Surigao del Norte and Cities therein, Surigao del Sur, Tacloban City and Greater Leyte, Tarlac, Tawi-Tawi, Zambales and Olongapo City, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte and Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Sur and Pagadian City and Community Chests and Councils of the Philippines, Inc.
I hereby call upon all residents, of whatever race or creed, business firms, organizations and government personnel of offices and agencies in the areas above mentioned to support the campaigns of the Community Chest and Council organizations, by giving generously of their means to this one annual appeal campaign for the promotion of the economic well-being of our less fortunate countrymen, in their respective areas of operation.
