DECLARING FRIDAY, MAY 9, 1975, AS GREGORIA DE JESUS DAY IN CALOOCAN CITY.

WHEREAS, Friday, May 9, 1975, marks the birth centenary of Gregoria de Jesus, patriot, first woman member of the Katipunan, and heroine of the Philippine Revolution;

WHEREAS, it is desirable to ponder on the exemplary life of Gregoria de Jesus and her valuable contributions to the development of the Philippines as a nation; and

WHEREAS, 1975 is International Women’s Year during which due recognition should be given to outstanding Filipino women;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Friday, May 9, 1975, as GREGORIA DE JESUS DAY in Caloocan City.
