BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

[ Proclamation No. 1415, April 14, 1975 ]

DECLARING APRIL 1 TO 7 OF EVERY YEAR AS “NATIONAL EXPORT WEEK.”

WHEREAS, the promotion and development of the Philippine export industries, so greatly needed in this country, are of paramount importance to maintain the balance of payments and, to a greater extent, help accelerate the desirable economic growth and development through augmented production and coordinated export promotion activities;

WHEREAS, the Department of Trade, in pursuance of its task of implementing the country’s programs and policies for the promotion and development of export industries, is sponsoring nationwide export fairs, seminars, and symposia on various trade topics, and is giving incentive awards to deserving exporters, and establishing rapport with visiting trade missions; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus public attention on the important role played by export industries in the economic development efforts of the country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare April 1 to 7 of every year as National Export Week under the auspices of the Department of Trade.

The Secretary of Trade may request other government offices, as well as private enterprises involved, directly or indirectly, in export to assist and participate during the Export Week.1aшphi1
