MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 1412, April 12, 1975 ] AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 1112 DATED FEBRUARY 21, 1973 ESTABLISHING AS A RESERVATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE EXPLORATION, DEVELOPMENT, EXPLOITATION AND UTILIZATION OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY, NATURAL GAS AND METHANE GAS, A PARCEL OF LAND IN THE PROVINCE OF LEYTE, ISLAND OF LEYTE, PHILIPPINES. WHEREAS, under Proclamation No. 1112, the Government had set apart as reservation under the Administration of the National Power Corporation for the purpose of developing, exploiting and utilizing geothermal energy, a parcel of land in the province of Leyte, Island of Leyte, Philippines; WHEREAS, subsequent studies conducted therein indicated that the probable geothermal reservoir extends outside of the boundaries established under Proclamation No. 1112; WHEREAS, it is to the interest of the State that the land covered by the exploration work and the surrounding areas be reserved for this purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, upon recommendation of the Secretary of Natural Resources, and to implement the provisions of Section 5, Republic Act No. 5092, hereby modify and amend the boundaries of the Leyte geothermal reservation provided for under Proclamation No. 1112 and entrusted to the administration of the National Power Corporation as follows: Beginning at a point “1”, whose geographic position is 11º-10'-06.6" north latitude and 124º-34-11.4" east longitude, located at the Municipality of Kananga, Island of Leyte; Thence, due northeast to point “2” whose geographic position is 11º-16'-32.2" north latitude and 124º-43'-22.9" east longitude, located at the Municipality of Carigara; Thence, due southeast to point “3”, whose geographic position is 10º-53'-17.0" east latitude and 125º-00'-01.7" north longitude, located at the Municipality of Mayorga; Thence, due Southwest to point “4”, whose geographic position 10º-46'-51.9" east latitude and 124º-50'-50.5" north longitude, located at the Municipality of Baybay; Thence, due northwest to point “1”, which is the point of beginning, containing an approximate area of One Hundred Seven Thousand Six hundred Twenty-five (107,625) hectares.
