DECLARING APRIL 13-19, 1975 AS CIVIL ENGINEERING WEEK

WHEREAS, the Association of Government Civil Engineers of the Philippines (AGCEP) will be holding its eight annual national convention on April 16-19, 1975;

WHEREAS, it has become necessary at this time to focus the attention of the nation on the important role that this national association has for the past years accomplished in the implementation of the government’s development program, despite problems arising from worldwide inflation, the energy crisis, calamities, and the demand under the New Society for a broader infrastructure program that could amply respond to the country’s ever-growing needs;

WHEREAS, it has also become necessary to extend proper recognition to the private civil engineering sector in its wholehearted support for and collaboration with the government in achieving its development goals;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare April 13-19, 1975 as Civil Engineering Week.1aшphi1
