[ Proclamation No. 1404, March 24, 1975 ]

AUTHORIZING THE FOUNDATION FOR PHILIPPINE FAMILY PLANNING TO CONDUCT AN EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN FROM MARCH 15, 1975 TO DECEMBER 15, 1975.

WHEREAS, the problem of rapid population growth is a vital concern of Government as well as of the private sector;

WHEREAS, the Foundation for Philippine Family Planning (FPFP), a resource development arm of the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines, is a private, non-profit agency engaged in family planning activities and service throughout the country;

WHEREAS, the FPFP aims to undertake a vigorous campaign for family planning and planned parenthood in coordination with other population control organizations;

WHEREAS, the FPFP needs more time to conduct its educational and fund campaign to enable them the continued support of its programs to control the population growth; and

WHEREAS, this commendable initiative and laudable effort of the FPFP deserves the moral and material support of both the Government and the private sector;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Foundation for Philippine Family Planning to conduct an educational, membership and fund drive from March 15, 1975 to December 15, 1975. I urge government agencies, private organizations and residents to give generously of their means to the Foundation to enable it to realize its objectives.
