DECLARING MARCH 16-22, 1975 AS INFORMATION AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY WEEK

WHEREAS, there is a need to highlight the important role that information systems play in the development process, particularly in policy formulation and in the implementation of development programs;

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to focus attention on the need for more efficient methods of gathering, processing, and utilizing information in the light of recent trends toward the use of rational analysis as the basis for designing and implementing explicit and coherent plans and policies;

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to focus public attention to the roles of information and computer technology in national development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare March 16-22, 1975 as Information and Computer Technology Week.
