[ Proclamation No. 1380, January 29, 1975 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE CANCER SOCIETY, INC. TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND DRIVE DURING THE PERIOD FROM FEBRUARY 1 TO DECEMBER 15, 1975.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., having spearheaded the move towards the prevention and control of cancer, envisions the extension of its free medical services to the rural areas through the establishment of local chapters, the intensification of its educational campaign for cancer awareness and the putting up of a national cancer hospital offering complete treatment facilities;

WHEREAS, statistics gathered by the Society from various local clinics and hospitals show that the prevalence of cancer is increasing every year; and

WHEREAS, in order to carry out these expanded services of the Society, it needs the continued support and cooperation of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc. to conduct a national educational, membership and fund drive during the period from February 1 to December 15, 1975. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality, race or creed, to assist in this humanitarian endeavor by giving generously of their means.
