DECLARING THE LAST FULL WEEK OF FEBRUARY OF EVERY YEAR AS “CHEMISTRY WEEK.”

WHEREAS, the science of chemistry has spurred the massive industrialization activities of today;

WHEREAS, chemistry is needed to understand the processes of life and to pursue advantageously the activities of the workaday world; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to highlight the contributions of chemists and the chemical industry to national development at least a week each year;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the last full week in February of each year, starting with 1975, as “CHEMISTRY WEEK” under the auspices of the KAPISANAN NG MGA KIMIKO SA PILIPINAS (Chemical Society of the Philippines, Inc.) and all other organization of chemists affiliated to said society which shall promote and enhance the development of Chemistry in the Philippines and undertake such activities as may be necessary to ensure the fitting observance of the occasion.1aшphi1
