DECLARING A FIVE-HECTARE PORTION OF THE DAGAT-DAGATAN RESETTLEMENT AREA, NAVOTAS, RIZAL, AS OFFICIAL SITE FOR THE 1976 INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURAL FOUNDATION IN CONNECTION WITH THE 1976 UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE-EXPOSITION ON HUMAN SETTLEMENTS.

WHEREAS, Manila has been chosen by the International Architectural Foundation as the first demonstration site for the 1976 International Architectural Competition being conducted in connection with the 1976 United Nations Conference-Exposition on Human Settlements in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada;

WHEREAS, the choice of Manila as demonstration site for the planning of an ideal human settlement constitutes a signal recognition of the innovative human settlements program being undertaken by the Philippine government;

WHEREAS, the entries in this international competition will constitute valuable inputs in the human settlements program of the Philippines and of other developing countries of the United Nations; and

WHEREAS, actual field inspections and consultations between the appropriate Philippine government bodies and private sector professionals engaged in human settlements work point to a five-hectare portion in the Dagat-Dagatan, Navotas, Rizal, as the ideal demonstration site for this international competition.

NOW, THEREFORE I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, hereby reserve, subject to private rights, if any there be, a five-hectare portion of land in Navotas, Rizal, as official contest and demonstration site for the 1976 International Architectural Competition of the International Architectural Foundation in connection with the 1976 United Nations Conference-Exposition on Human Settlements which parcel of land is more particularly described as follows:

A parcel of land situated in Navotas, Rizal. Bounded on the north by fishponds, on the south by a proposed circumferential road No. 3, on the west by Malabon River and on the east by a fishpond. Beginning at a point marked “1”, the junction of proposed circumferential Road 3 and Malabon River,

thence N. 18º 05’W, 250 m. to point 2;

thence N. 71º 55’E, 100 m. to point 3;

thence S. 18º 05’E, 57 m. to point 4;

thence S. 30º E, 23 m. to point 5;

thence S. 40º E, 17 m. to point 6;

thence S. 50º E, 18 m. to point 7;

thence S. 54º E, 18 m. to point 8;

thence S. 72º E, 21.50 m. to point 9;

thence S. 84º 05’E, 136 m. to point 10;

thence S. 5º 55’W, 161 m. to point 11;

thence N. 78º 05’W, 38.50 m. to point 12;

thence N. 84º W, 45 m. to point 13;

thence N. 89º W, 50 m. to point 14;

thence N. 88º 05’W, 94.50 m. to the point of

beginning; containing an area of FIFTY THOUSAND (50,000) SQUARE METERS, more or less.
