MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 1370, January 13, 1975 ] AUTHORIZING THE “MOVIE WORKERS WELFARE FOUNDATION, INC.” TO CONDUCT ITS FIRST GENERAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP, AND FUND CAMPAIGN THROUGHOUT THE PHILIPPINES FROM FEBRUARY 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1975 AND ENJOINING THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN. WHEREAS, the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation, Inc., was organized for the welfare and benefit of the workers of the Philippine motion picture industry; WHEREAS, the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation, Inc., is a fine example of a situation where the more affluent, more influential and more economically stable persons of a specific industry band together for the welfare and betterment of the less privileged members of that industry; WHEREAS, the Philippine motion picture industry as a whole, through the efforts of the movie workers and the leadership of the motion picture producers, contribute no less than P300,000,000.00 annually to the economy of the country, not counting the educational, cultural, and entertainment value of Philippine motion pictures to the Filipino people; WHEREAS, the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation, Inc., is ready to embark on its first general educational, membership, and fund campaign through the support of the general public in order to carry out its purpose of serving the interest and welfare of the movie workers; NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation, Inc., to conduct its 1975 MOWELFUND General Educational, Membership, and Fund Campaign for the period February 15 to December 31, 1975, throughout the Philippines, and to enjoin the general public to extend assistance to the said Foundation wherever and whenever possible in this worthy and laudable undertaking.
