[ Proclamation No. 1342, October 29, 1974 ]

DECLARING NOVEMBER 11 TO 17, 1974, AS PURCHASING WEEK

WHEREAS, the Philippines is engaged in a program of accelerated national development which calls for the mobilization and husbanding of financial and other resources;

WHEREAS, there is a continuing need for government and private agencies to upgrade their purchasing standards and processes so as to effect more savings and more productive use of public and private funds;

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Association of the Philippines is sponsoring the Third National Convention of Purchasing and Materials Managers which will be held on November 11, 12 and 13, 1974, which convention is an appropriate time to call the attention of the public to this important undertaking;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from November 11 to 17, 1974 as “Purchasing Week.”
