DECLARING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24, 1974, AS RAFAEL PALMA DAY IN BATAAN, LAGUNA, RIZAL, CAVITE, AND CITIES THEREIN

WHEREAS, Thursday, October 24, 1974, marks the birth centenary of RAFAEL PALMA Y VELASQUEZ, patriot, scholar, stateman; journalist, historian, and educator; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to ponder on the life, works, and writings of Rafael Palma and his significant contributions to the development and progress of education, government, and scholarship;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Thursday, October 24, 1974, as Rafael Palma Day in Bataan, Laguna, Rizal, Cavite, and cities therein, including Manila, in honor of the former Assemblyman and Senator of the Fourth Senatorial District and U.P.
