[ Proclamation No. 1337, October 17, 1974 ]

DECLARING THE WEEK FROM NOVEMBER 4 TO 10, 1974, AS AMATEUR RADIO COMMUNICATION WEEK, AND DESIGNATING THE PHILIPPINE AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION (PARA), INC., TO HOST THE FOURTH ANNUAL CONVENTION OF THE SOUTHEAST ASIA AMATEUR RADIO COMMUNICATION NETWORK, KNOWN AS THE SEANET

WHEREAS, the Philippine Amateur Radio Association (PARA), Inc., is the recognized national association of those engaged in amateur radio communication services in the Philippines;

WHEREAS, the PARA, representing the Philippines, is the regular member of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) Region III Association, with head office at Sydney, Australia;

WHEREAS, the PARA also represented the Philippines in the third annual SEANET Convention held at Singapore in 1973; and

WHEREAS, in the third SEANET convention at Singapore, it was unanimously approved to hold the fourth SEANET convention in Manila during the month of November 1974;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the week from November 4 to 10, 1974, as “Amateur Radio Communication Week.” The Philippine Amateur Radio Association (PARA), Inc., is hereby designated to host the fourth Southeast Asia Amateur Radio Communication Network (SEANET) Convention to be held in Manila during the same period and to make appropriate measures to focus attention of the general public on the services that amateur radio communication services render to the community and the Nation.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
