[ Proclamation No. 1334, October 14, 1974 ]

AUTHORIZING THE ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES RETIRED VETERANS ASSOCIATION, INC. TO CONDUCT A NEW FUND CAMPAIGN TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF A BUILDING TO BE KNOWN AS THE AFP RETIRED VETERANS HALL AND MUSEUM AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, the Armed Forces of the Philippines Retired Veterans Association, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the AFPREVAI, is a duly registered veterans’ association, with some sixteen thousand military retirees, widows, orphans and disabled veterans of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars as members;

WHEREAS, the AFPREVAI was organized with the main objectives of fostering a stronger and more active comradeship among its members; securing and protecting the rights, interests and well-being of said members; participating more militantly and effectively in the maintenance in the Philippines of a strong, upright and just government; preserving the memories of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the heroic incidents and memorabilia of the great wars fought by Filipino soldiers;

WHEREAS, the AFPREVAI, has been commissioned to construct a building in Camp Aguinaldo to be known as “The AFP Retired Veterans Hall and Museum” where they may hold offices for the greater convenience and benefit of all their members and to enshrine memorabilia of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, their deeds and accomplishments for the country;

WHEREAS, the AFPREVAI was authorized under Presidential Proclamation No. 1227 dated January 28, 1974 to conduct a fund campaign to raise funds for the construction and maintenance of a building to be known as the AFP Retired Veterans Hall and Museum and for other purposes from January 15 to June 30, 1974;

WHEREAS, the funds raised by the AFPREVAI upon termination of the period on June 30, 1974 has fallen short of the fund requirement for the construction of said AFP Retired Veterans Hall and Museum;

WHEREAS, the aforementioned project of the AFPREVAI is laudable and will be beneficial not only to its members or other military retirees and veterans who are not members and to the Armed Forces of the Philippines as a whole, but also the country in general;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the AFPREVAI to conduct a new fund campaign from October 15, 1974 to April 15, 1975, including the holding of benefit movie premiers in Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Echague, Isabela.1aшphi1
