AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE CONTRACT BRIDGE LEAGUE, INC. TO CONDUCT A FUND DRIVE FROM OCTOBER 1 TO NOVEMBER 30, 1974

WHEREAS, the Philippine Contract Bridge League, Inc. will host the 18th Far East Bridge Championships from November 23, to December 6, 1974, in which 250 players from fourteen countries will participate;

WHEREAS, the League needs public support to provide suitable playing conditions for the players, as well as provide some measure of traditional Philippine hospitality to the guests; and

WHEREAS, the occasion is an opportunity to drum up greater interest in this intellectual type of competition, besides being a boost to tourism;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Philippine Contract Bridge League, Inc., to conduct a fund drive from October 1 to November 30, 1974.
