DESIGNATING OCTOBER 1974 AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS NATIONAL SCOUTING MONTH

WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Philippines merit the continued moral encouragement and support of our people in their program of character building and citizenship training among the youth; and

WHEREAS, the involvement of more youth and adults in the Scouting Movement for a better tomorrow requires the sustained and continued support of every citizen;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, in order to focus the nation’s attention on these two important youth organizations and the far-reaching effects of Scouting on Philippine society, do hereby designate October 1974 and every year thereafter as National Scouting Month. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to give the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Philippines their unstinted support, moral and material, in order that they may be able to continue with their youth citizenship training programs.
