[ Proclamation No. 1299, August 14, 1974 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 2 TO 8, 1974 AS POLICE WEEK

In order that the people may appreciate fully the vital role of our local law-enforcement agencies in the maintenance of peace and order and due enforcement of the laws of the land, as well as the efforts of our national police agencies, such as the National Police Commission and the Philippine Constabulary, in the professionalization, upgrading and integration of local police forces throughout the country, I hereby declare the period from September 2 to 8, 1974 as “Police Week.”

I hereby enjoin all the people of the Philippines to lend their full support and cooperation in the proper observance of Police Week to the end that the Filipino policeman may gain added inspiration in faithfully and effectively carrying out his mission as guardian of the peace in our land.

The National Police Commission shall coordinate the activities of all local law-enforcement agencies in connection with the observance of this week.1aшphi1

This supplements Proclamation No. 949 dated 12 January 1972 declaring September 8 of every year as Police Day.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
