DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1 TO DECEMBER 31, 1974 FOR THE ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGNS OF THE COMMUNITY CHEST FOUNDATION OF METROPOLITAN MANILA, INC.

WHEREAS, the Community Chest of Greater Manila (CCGM) has been converted into a Community Chest Foundation for Metropolitan Manila, Inc., and as such, has the capability to undertake community welfare projects of greater magnitude;

WHEREAS, the campaign objectives of the CCFMM seek to make this Foundation more relevant to the expanding social development needs of the communities within the sphere of its solicitation, by introducing the “United Appeal” concept of fund raising to eliminate multiple campaigns and thus help more meaningfully in meeting the needs of the CCFMM agencies for their social welfare activities in the Metro Manila communities;

WHEREAS, the CCFMM also seeks to establish closer working rapport between the private sector and the local governments for social welfare undertakings through the strengthening of government and private sector leadership, to achieve campaign goals; and

WHEREAS, in order that the humanitarian and community welfare objectives of the Community Chest Foundation of Metropolitan Manila may be fully achieved:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby designate the period from July 1 to December 31, 1974 for the annual educational, membership and fund campaigns of the Community Chest Foundation of Metropolitan Manila, Inc.

In view hereof, I hereby call upon all residents, of whatever race or creed, business, commercial and industrial firms, professional and civic groups, government personnel of offices and agencies, as well as private citizens and entities within the Metropolitan Manila area, to fully support the campaigns of the Community Chest Foundation of Metropolitan Manila, by giving generously of their means to this single “United Appeal” campaign, for the promotion of the economic well-being of our less fortunate countrymen in the above-cited area of solicitation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.1aшphi1
