DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 1 TO OCTOBER 31, 1974 FOR THE ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGNS OF COMMUNITY CHEST AND COUNCIL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE PHILIPPINES.
WHEREAS, the Community Chest and Council organizations in the Philippines is engaged in the funding of community health and welfare services, as well as in the promotion of economic well-being in their respective areas of operation;
WHEREAS, in the promotion of economic well-being, Barrio Rural Improvement Corps, or BRIC’s have been organized in almost all of the fifty-seven (57) provinces and cities in the country;
WHEREAS, the Community Chest and Council organizations unite into one annual appeal the campaigns for public assistance to the health and welfare needs of the more needy among our citizens; and
WHEREAS, in order that the humanitarian objectives of the Community Chest and Councils of the Philippines, Inc. may be fully attained;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby designate the period from June 1 to October 31, 1974 for the annual educational and fund campaigns of the Community Chest and Council organizations, under the auspices of the Community Chest and Councils of the Philippines, Inc.
In view hereof, the various Community Chest and Council organizations are hereby authorized to conduct educational and fund campaigns in their respective areas of solicitations, as follows: Agusan del Norte and Butuan City, Agusan del Sur, Aklan, Albay and Legazpi City, Baguio City, Basilan, Batangas province and the cities therein, Benguet, Bohol, and Tagbilaran City, Bukidnon, Cagayan Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and the cities therein, Capiz and Roxas City, Cavite province and the cities therein, Cebu province and the cities therein, the three provinces of Davao and the cities therein; Eastern Samar, Lanao del Norte and Iligan City, Ilocos Norte and Laoag City, Ilocos Sur, Iloilo province and the cities therein, Isabela, Kalinga-Apayao, Laguna and San Pablo City, Lanao del Sur and Marawi City, La Union, Maguindanao and Cotabato City, Misamis Occidental and the cities therein, Misamis Oriental and the cities therein, Negros Occidental and the cities therein, Negros Oriental and the cities therein, North Cotabato, Nueva Ecija and the cities therein, Nueva Vizcaya, Ormoc City and Greater Leyte Area, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Pampanga and Angeles City, Pangasinan and the cities therein, Quezon, Quirino, Romblon, South Cotabato and General Santos City, Southern Leyte, Sorsogon, Sulu, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Tacloban City and Leyte Area, Tarlac, Tawi-Tawi, Zambales and Olongapo City, City of Zamboanga, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Pagadian City and Sultan Kudarat.
I hereby call upon all residents, of whatever race or creed, business firms, organizations and government personnel of offices and agencies in the areas above mentioned to support the campaigns of the Community Chest and Council organizations, by giving generously of their means to this one annual appeal campaign for the promotion of the economic well-being of our less fortunate countrymen, in their respective areas of operation.1aшphi1
