[ Proclamation No. 1265, May 21, 1974 ]

RESERVING FOR PORT DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES CERTAIN LANDS OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN SITUATED IN THE PROVINCE OF CAGAYAN, ISLAND OF LUZON.

WHEREAS, there is pressing need to accelerate the economic development program of the Government for the early attainment of the objectives of the New Society;

WHEREAS, among the economic development programs of the Government is the development of ports and harbors; and

WHEREAS, the Cagayan Valley is badly in need of a port;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that all lands of the public domain and all government lands, including lands under water, and those within one kilometer inland from the national highway situated along the coast from Tapal River, Gonzaga, Cagayan to Nulton Point, San Vicente, Cagayan, are hereby withdrawn from disposition by lease or sale and reserved for port development purposes, subject to private rights, if any there be.

The reservation is subject, furthermore, to subsequent precise survey, which is deemed an integral part of this proclamation.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 21st day of May, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-four.
