DECLARING MAY 15, 1974, AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS “FARMERS’ DAY” IN GUMACA, LUCBAN, SARIAYA AND TAYABAS, QUEZON PROVINCE, AND IN LUCENA CITY.

WHEREAS, the 15th of May of every year is traditionally observed as agriculture day in the towns of Gumaca, Lucban, Sariaya, and Tayabas, Quezon Province, and in Lucena City;

WHEREAS, in recognition of the people by whose efforts and industry the event has been made possible and to promote agricultural efficiency and cottage industries and underscore their vital role in national development, it is fitting to give official recognition to the occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby designate May 15, 1974, and every year thereafter, as “Farmers’ Day” in Gumaca, Lucban, Sariaya, and Tayabas, Quezon Province, and in Lucena City and enjoin all concerned entities in making the holding of the Day a success.
