DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 19 TO 25, 1974, AS HOME ECONOMICS WEEK.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Home Economics Association observes this year the twenty-sixth anniversary of its founding;

WHEREAS, this nation-wide Association is composed of 65 Chapters all over the country with a membership of more than 6,000; and

WHEREAS, Home Economics is one field of education which is concerned with the home and the family as they exist in society, helping individuals and families develop into responsible and effective members of society, thus making families vital cogs in national development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from May 19 to 25, 1974, as Home Economics Week under the auspices of the Philippine Home Economics Association and urge all home economists to join in making the observance of the Week a success.
