DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 6 TO 12, 1974, AS RURAL BANKING WEEK.

WHEREAS, May 9 to 12, 1974, marks the 21st Annual Convention of Rural Bankers under the joint sponsorship of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines and the Central Bank of the Philippines;

WHEREAS, rural banking, as the main instrument of agricultural financing in the rural areas is vital in the acceleration program of agricultural economy; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting to focus public attention on the vital role of rural banks in the democratization of national wealth;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from May 6 to 12, 1974, as Rural Banking Week under the auspices of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines and other involved entities.
